Irene Violette (Lagasse) Goulet, 86, of Boscawen died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Merrimack County Nursing Home following a long period of declining health. She was born March 8, 1930, daughter of the late Alphonse and Eugenie (Charest) Lagasse. She was married to the late Robert Joseph Goulet on January 7, 1951. She worked in the Manchester office for New England Telephone for more than 40 years.
Irene was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. You could always find her busy cooking, gardening, sewing or knitting and, overall, was a hardworking individual.
Family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Normand and Linda Goulet of Manchester, a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Edward Blancato of Portland, OR and a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Goulet and Pamela Puelo of Concord; grandchildren, Jillian Brickley of Manchester, Jessica Aragon of Oregon, Ryan Goulet of Manchester, Grayson Goulet of Concord, Michael Blancato of Melbourne, Australia and Kristin Blancato of Cincinnati; great grandchildren Andrew Aragon of Oregon and Eliot Blancato of Australia; two brothers, George Emile Lagasse of Manchester and Jean Paul Lagasse of Florida and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
People wishing to extend condolences may join the family from 9:00 to 10:00amat the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, with a memorial service to follow. Private burial will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
