Irene V Marden

Irene Virginia (Clark) Marden, 91, died on December 11, 2022 at Pleasant View Center in Concord. She was born on June 11, 1931 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Arnold and Pearl (Dunn) Clark.

She was the wife of the late Charles Marden. They were married on August 16, 1952 in Manchester.

Irene graduated from Concord High School in 1947. She worked for Rumford Press in the 1960’s, and in housekeeping for Concord Coach Motor Inn from 1967 to 1978.

Irene enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. She later delighted in becoming a grandmother and great grandmother. Being able to spend time with her family was always her first priority. She attended Wesley Methodist Church in Concord for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, making latch hook pieces, working tirelessly on paint by number pictures, and completing giant jigsaw puzzles. When she was younger, she loved the frequent trips by car to Florida she made with her family. In 1974 she flew for the first time alone to Florida to enjoy a 10 day vacation, which was a real adventure for her! She never had the opportunity to travel again, but did really love the lunch dates and day trips she shared with her friends. She was also excited to have been able to attend her 60th High School Reunion in September of 2007. People that knew Irene always knew her to have a smile on her face. She had a child like sense of humor and loved to laugh with those she spent time with. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Perry and husband Thomas of Concord; son, Peter Wilson and wife Diana of Nashua; two grandsons, Daniel Perry of Concord, and Jeffrey Perry of Franklin; a granddaughter, Jamie Wilson of Exeter; as well as six great-grandchildren.
