STRATHAM - Jack Dwyer Lynch, passed away on Thursday, February 20, at Exeter Hospital. Jack was born on December 11, 1938 in Canandaigua, New York, the son of the late James and Barbara Tibbetts Lynch. Jack grew up in Groveton, and was a 1956 graduate of Groveton High School. Jack attended Plymouth Teachers College and graduated with a bachelors degree in education. He received 13 varsity letters and was named to the Plymouth State College Hall in Fame in 1992. Jack earned masters degrees at Atlanta University in Georgia, and the University of New Hampshire. He also earned a PhD from Columbia Pacific University United Kingdom Campus. Jack began his career in education at Laconia High School. He then worked at Merrimack Valley High School, Gilford High School , the Hyde School in Bath Maine, and Rice Memorial High School in South Burlington, Vermont. Jack also worked in international education in The Hague, Holland, London, England, Quito, Ecuador, and most recently Rotterdam, Holland. Jack was a devoted husband, father and friend and spent his entire life teaching and coaching. He coached Babe Ruth Baseball, high school tennis, youth hockey and high school golf. He was the teaching pro at Den Brae Golf Course in Sanbornton, NH for many summers. Jack is survived by his wife Susan Hechler- Lynch, two sons John ODwyer Lynch of Westmoreland, Michael Lynch of Sugar Hill, and three daughters, Kathleen Erin Hogan of Fairfax, Vermont Caley Sharon Lynch and Christiane Hechler Lynch of Stratham, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Sharon Lynch DeMayo of Newport. A private family service will be held at a later date.
