Jack E. Towle

Jack Edward Towle, age 86 of Chester, NH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 7, 2024, after a long illness.  

Born August 28, 1937, Jack enlisted in the Army in 1955 and served proudly in Germany for four years.   Jack worked as a machinist and later retired from the State of New Hampshire Highway Department. He was a former Deputy Chief and EMT of the Chester Fire Department.  Former President of the Chester Lions Club and 2020 Chester Man of the Year.  Jack loved the outdoors; he was an avid gardener and well-known respected woodsman and hunter.  A talented Yankee craftsman, he built furniture for many friends and family.   He had a Yankee sense of humor and loved to play cribbage.

Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joan (Doran) Towle; son Michael Towle and wife Joanne of Barnstead, NH; daughters Mary Towle of New Durham, NH, and Patricia Drouin and husband Mike of Barnstead, NH; sisters Colleen Towle of Chester, NH, and Patricia Degroff of Schoharie, NY.  

Jack was a proud grandfather (Papa) to 9: Jacob Towle of Concord, NH, Mikayla Towle and Caleb Towle of Barnstead, NH, Joshua Morris and wife Christie, and Seth Morris and wife Nichole of Barnstead, NH, Rebecca Greenwood and husband Todd of Alton, NH, Aaron Atkins and wife Amanda of Bridgeport, MI, Austin Atkins of Titusville, FL, and Arielle Kim and husband Addison of Dallas TX.  Great-grandfather to 7: Sam Morris, Taylor and Skye Greenwood, Madison Morris, Jaxson and Whitney Atkins, Carlyle Kim. Also, many nieces and nephews, son-in-law Ron Morris and nephew Kevin Cottrell.

A private Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
