Jack D. Watson, 77, of Gilmanton died February 4, 2003 at Pleasant View Center in Concord following a lengthy illness. Mr. Watson was born on December 11, 1925 in Okay, Oklahoma the son of the late James and Allee (Crawford) Watson. He was a U S Navy Veteran who served in World War II. He was a building superintendent in Boston for 29 years and moved to Gilmanton with his wife in 1981. Mr. Watson worked for Barnstead Elementary School and retired due to illness in the mid- 1980's. He was a lifetime member of the Laconia VFW. He enjoyed farming and gardening and throughout the years raised a variety of animals. Family members include: his wife of 28 years, Loraine (Turell) Watson; two sons, John N. Watson of San Diego, CA and James Lennon of Erie, PA; three daughters, Judith Lennon of Hopedale, MA, Deborah Osterberg of Pepperell, MA and Diane Maloney of Gilmanton; six grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will take place this spring at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
