Jacqueline Lucas

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jacqueline Lucas, 80, on May 20, 2023 at her family home in Bedford, NH. She was born on March 11th, 1943 in Springfield, MA to the daughter of Travis and Katherine Wood. Jackie was married to Herb Lucas on April 14, 1973 and widowed in 2021.

Jackie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, family member, friend, and teacher to so many. She cherished her relationships with family, friends, and acquaintances and could strike up a conversation with anyone and make each person feel important and connected. She brought people together and will be dearly missed. Jackie’s life on Earth was well spent, fully enjoyed, and an example of remarkable kindness and happiness. 

Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kate Simons; son-in-law Patrick Simons; and grandsons, Henry and Finn Simons; and sister Katherine McKee. 

Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral mass held at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford, NH on June 10th at 11:00. Final burial is planned for a later date at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH alongside her husband, Herb Lucas.
