James Joseph Barone

James Joseph Barone, of Manchester, New Hampshire, formerly of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at the age of 79.

He is survived by his son James Thomas Barone, sister Donna Barone Milazzo (Dave), niece Tara Benevento Malkowski (Michael), nephews Matthew Benevento (Katherine), Christian Benevento; and, Matthew, Brian and niece Meaghan Monteverde. James was also great uncle to McKenna, Logan, Mia and Lennon.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia Dugan Barone, brother Paul Barone, dad Frank, and mom Anna. He is survived by many cousins and friends.

James started his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance in NYC where he spent 25 years. Thereafter, he went on to work for the US Veterans Administration in Hackensack, New Jersey, where he worked many years as a benefits coordinator. James rose to the rank of chief administrator for the VA in the state of New Jersey and helped many veterans receive the benefits they earned and deserved.

James not only worked on behalf of veterans, but he also was a proud 17-year member of the US Army Reserves himself, where he rose to the rank of master sergeant.

James was an ardent sports enthusiast and a huge fan of the New York Yankees and Football Giants. He loved spending time watching games with his son Jamie and best buddy Ed. Never being able to sit idle for too long, James was also a 40-year member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2229, Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, where he once served as Grand Knight. James was a busy man indeed and led a full and rewarding life. He will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Church service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Francis RC Church, 114 Mt. Vernon Street, Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association, a charity close to James' heart. @www.fpwr.org.
