James E. Booker

James Edward Booker, 83, died June 30, 2019 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

He was born on January 12, 1936 in Farmville, Virginia, the son of the late Hudgins and Irene Booker. He was the husband of the late Patricia Booker. They were married on June 19, 1955 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and served for 22 years. When he retired in Plaistow, New Hampshire in 1975, he started his own construction business until he began working for Laid Law Transportation. He also drove for the Timberlane Regional School District, driving for sports and school events, until he retired in 2011.

James enjoyed family, friends, traveling and driving the buses. Most of all, he just enjoyed being around and meeting people. He never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was predeceased by his son, Lee James Booker; daughter, Renee Booker-Anthony; and granddaughter, Rhondalee Booker.

James is survived by his two sons; Keith Booker of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Jorel Booker of Manchester, New Hampshire; three daughters, Sherri Booker of Piscataway, New Jersey, Patricia "Patsy" (Micheal) Wood of Tampa, Florida, and Irene (Paul) Roberts of Jesup, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

SERVICES: His Memorial Gathering will be held in the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Sunday, July 21 at 11:30A.M. followed by his Memorial Service at 12:30P.M. James will be laid to rest with Military Honors at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, on Monday, July 22 at 2:30P.M. Family and friends are invited to attend.
