James Boulton

James Blaine Boulton, age 74, of Chenango Forks, NY passed away on October 3, 2022 in Concord, NH from complications related to his recent battle with lung cancer.  Beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.  Jim was many things to many people.

Born in Cambridge, MA on April 11, 1948 to James B. and Agnes M. (McColl) Boulton, Jim grew up in Billerica, MA and graduated from Billerica Memorial High School in 1967.  He proudly served in the United States Army for 10 years, including two tours in Viet Nam.  Jim was honorably discharged in 1978.  Residing in Bradford, NH for most of his adult life, Jim raised three daughters; Jamie, Jeanine and Jennifer, in his home on Steele Road.  This is also where he met his current wife, Leslie (Nelson) Boulton.  He loved to tell the story of how he met and married the “girl next door.” Leslie & Jim were married in 1999 and spent 23 years of fun and happy togetherness, and they shared many travels and adventures.

Jim loved life and lived every day in a big way without regret.  He had a big loud voice, an easy laugh, and a loving heart.  He was a hardworking and loyal man who loved fiercely with his whole heart and never let a day pass without a joke and a smile.  If you were lucky enough to be considered family or friend, he was always ready to lend a hand or have your back.  He will be desperately missed by the loved ones he leaves behind – but never forgotten.  We will remember his unique sense of humor, his baby blue eyes, his absolute loyalty, his big booming laugh, and his infectious smile.

Jim leaves behind a large and loving family.  He is survived by his wife, two daughters, six grandchildren, two brothers, five sisters, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as eight great-grandchildren, over twenty-one nieces and nephews (who all grew up loving their Uncle Big Jim), and countless spouses, grand-nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to count.   Jim is predeceased by his parents and daughter, Jamie (Boulton) McFarland.   

Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, October 28^th, 9:00-10:30am at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street in Boscawen. A Memorial Service will follow immediately in the Cremation Society Chapel.  Interment will be at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at a later time.
