James P. Brown

James Preston Brown, 52, passed away after a long battle with cancer on February 2, 2016 at Elliot Hospital, Manchester, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 16 years of Ann Marie (Carignan/Kearney) Brown.

Jim was born in Fall River, MA, the son of the late James H. Brown of Fall River and the late Alice E. (Madore/Robidoux) Brown of Osnabrook, Quebec. He grew up in Somerset, MA and graduated from Somerset High, Class of 1981.

Jim proudly served his country as an electronics technician and maritime law enforcement officer with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1982-1986. After an honorable discharge, Jim earned his B.S in Exercise Physiology from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell before matriculating to the University of St. Augustine in Florida where he received his Master's in Physical Therapy. Jim worked as a physical therapist for 16 years in both Florida and New Hampshire; most recently for the Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors; skiing and scuba diving being two of his favorite activities. He was also an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. But most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by this three step children: Melissa A. Kearney of Newmarket, NH; Andrew P. Kearney and his wife Kendra, grandson Jaxon and granddaughter Raegan of Chester, NH; and Danielle M. Kearney of Sandown, NH; three brothers: Jeffrey J. Brown of Fall River, MA; Jason K. Brown and his wife Judy of Sarasota, FL; the late Paul Robidoux and his wife Ruth of Stuart, FL; three sisters: Gloria (Robidoux) Larrivee and her husband George of Titusville, FL; Rita (Robidoux) Damaso and her husband John of Fall River, MA; Gail (Brown) Haynes of Houston, TX; several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Gathering will be held in the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, on Saturday, February 6, from 4:00 to 8:00P.M. with Words of Remembrance at 6:00P.M. Committal will be announced in the Spring at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ann's Angel Funds, C/o Danielle Kearney, 63 Tenney Rd., Sandown, NH 03873 to assist Jim's wife, Ann, as she begins her chemotherapy treatments or to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
