James Chase, 62, of Strafford, Vermont died at his home on February 4, 2019 after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born in Lancaster, NH on May 14, 1956, the son of Ronald Chase and Eleanor (Potter) Chase. Jim was raised in Concord, Vermont.
He was married to Jacqueline Comeau on October 23, 1976. He worked as a stone mason in the Upper Valley for several years. His greatest joy was being in the woods deer hunting and enjoying the sounds, smells, and wonders of nature. He may be best known for his dedication to helping animals. He always put their needs ahead of his own and got a lot of love and thanks from them in return.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacqueline Chase, brother Ronald F. Chase, Jr. of Kirby, Vermont, sister, Sheila Clarke of Panama City, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at South Kirby Cemetery later this summer..
