James Joseph Condon

James "Jim" J. Condon (83), of Strafford, NH passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was the devoted husband of Gail Condon; loving dad of Katie Condon (Tim), James Condon (Sacha), and Patti Condon (Zack); and proud grandpa of Emma, Oliver, and Elliot (Katie/Tim).

Jim had a quick wit and sly sense of humor, and his laugh was infectious. His biggest passion was antiques – you would often find him around auction houses, garage sales, and antique shops looking for his next treasure. Jim enjoyed cards and taught his children and grandchildren to play so that he would always have a worthy adversary. He took pleasure in being outside, was an avid reader of fiction and nonfiction, and appreciated a good debate. Jim retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service.

Jim and Gail opened their home to many people through the years – their kindness is considerable.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Winifred and William Condon; sister, Mary Harrington; brother, Bill Condon; and nephew, Bill Condon and niece, Dianne Condon. Jim is survived by his sister, Jean Lechtenburg (Lee); brothers, Joe Condon (late wife, Cheryl) and Paul Condon (Barbara); and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A private celebration of life will be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. You may make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Parkinson’s Foundation, or Michael J. Fox Foundation in his honor as an alternative to flowers.
