James C. Fahy

Born October 11, 1929 in New York City, son of Laura Carter Fahy of New York City and Charles Howard Fahy, of Rochester, NY.

As a youth, Carter was a member of the Knickerbocker Grays and The Blue Hill Troupe. Music was a keen love inspired by his mother's grandfather, who wrote operettas.

Carter attended Cornell and Columbia Universities where he devoted himself to History. Carter was a member of the US Air Force. He was also a member of the MENSA society with an interest in mechanical inventions, reflecting the influence of his ancestor, Richard March Hoe, inventor of the rotary printing press a revolution which, among other notable inventions, allowed for the proliferation of newspapers.

Career interests included real estate and construction. In the sixties, he worked on the Wildcat Ski Resort and Logging and Blasting operations.

Carter was an inspiration to his nine nieces and nephews, encouraging and empowering them to fulfill their aspirations; In their younger years to pursue their interests in sailing, horse back riding, cars and mechanics.

Carter demonstrated an active interest in the Feminist Movement of Betty Friedan. His charitable donations reflected his concern for the development of healthy communities to assure children the support they need for a healthy personal and family life.

Carter is survived by his sister, Laura Fahy Robertson, sister in law, Anita Fahy, a son, Stephan Mojer, and nine nieces and nephews: Carter Fahy, Richard Fahy, Christina Fahy, Nat Fahy, Emily Robertson, Eva Robertson, Isabella Robertson, Sam Robertson and Catherine Fahy Green. Neighbors and friends were devoted to Carter for which he was very grateful!
