James Walter Bodge, 78, formerly of Somerville, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Rochester, NH.
James was born in Framingham, MA to Rev. Dr. James E. Bodge and Ruth H. (Baker) Bodge. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University School for the Arts.
A professional actor in the Boston and the Northeast Theatres for more than 30 years, his resume includes several productions with the Huntington Theatre Company, North Shore Music Theater, Worcester Foothills Theatre, Nora Theatre, the Wheelock Family Theatre, and many more. He spent 9 summers performing classical repertory at The Theatre at Monmouth, Maine. He served as the Boston Area liaison for Actor’s Equity. In addition to acting, his credits also include Stage Management, Film, Video and Radio works.
Jim will be remembered for his love of the arts, reading, and listening to classical music. He loved the City of Boston, where he lived for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joan Rasch, his father, Reverend Dr. James E. Bodge, and his brother, David Bodge. Jim is survived by his mother, Ruth Bodge, his brother, Lawrence Bodge, as well as nieces, Christine Bodge and Jennifer Dunleavy and nephew, Matthew Bodge.
