James (Jim) Edward George

James (Jim) Edward George, of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA at the age of 74, surrounded by his family. 

Jim was born on November 23, 1949 in Worcester, Massachusetts to father, John C. George and mother, Hazel M. George (née Lambert). He grew up in Auburn, Massachusetts where he developed a love for golf, music, and classic cars.

Jim was married to Diane Defosses, from 1985 to 1994, and had two sons together, Peter and Jonathan, who they both adored. Jim and Diane reconnected later in life and formed a beautiful friendship for the final decade of Jim’s life. 

Jim worked in the construction industry for many years and built several homes throughout southern New Hampshire. He loved to be outdoors playing a round of golf and also loved all types of motor vehicle racing. Above all else, Jim had a knack for learning new skills to fix almost anything. He was nearly always found around the garage tinkering around with something to fix. He loved motorcycles, snowmobiles, and cars and spent the last decades of his life restoring classics, often alongside his two boys. Jim also had a great passion for music and played drums and bass guitar. He was often playing a live music gig in one of the many bands he formed earlier on in his life and also really enjoyed impromptu jamming sessions alongside his close friends. Jim was frequently enjoying a good breakfast diner in company with his close friends, Lorraine, Lu, Gill, Roger, and Dave where he would always order his well-done corned beef hash. 

Jim adored his grandchildren and grand-doggies Dexter, Jane, and Morgan with all of his heart. During family events, he could always be found cuddled up on the couch with a pup or attempting to snap a picture of his grandchildren running around. He loved all of his four-legged friends he had present in his life and they brought him much joy. Jim's highest value in his life was the pride he had in his two boys and his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his sons, Peter George and wife Brianna (née Greer); and Jonathan George and wife Maria (née Carrasquillo); three grandchildren, Emmett, Ashton, and Isabel; his three brothers Ronald George, Jack George, and Richard George; and his former spouse Diane Desfosses. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on March 3, 2024 in Manchester, NH for immediate family and close friends.
