James Paul
Levy
Aug 17, 1979 — Jul 25, 2026
Concord
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Paul Levy, whose vibrant journey began on August 17, 1979, in Lowell, Massachusetts, and concluded far too soon on July 25, 2026, in Concord, New Hampshire. James was an undeniable force of joy and connection. He illuminated every space he entered.
If you knew James, you know he wasn't just “in” a room; he “was” the room. His energy was infectious, his laugh unmistakable, and his quick wit could charm anyone. He had this incredible knack for turning a quick hello into a lasting friendship, making everyone he met feel like the most important person in the world. He was pure joy, a constant burst of optimism, always reminding us to find the fun, chase our wildest dreams, and just live it up. He had this wonderful, playful "Peter Pan" spirit that let us all shed our worries and just enjoy the moment. James didn't just brighten your day; he illuminated your whole week.
Academically grounded, James held an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Construction and Small Engine Repair from SUNY Canton.
He loved figuring out how things worked, but his absolute greatest passion was being a dad. His children were his world, and he poured every ounce of love and dedication into guiding and nurturing them.
Beyond his family, James had a serious love for anything with wheels, especially his ATVs – he just loved the thrill and freedom they brought. He was the ultimate host, always gathering friends for good times, and he found a peaceful calm tinkering away in his garage, bebop-ping around on his golf cart or getting in some focused time at the range. That unique mix of genuine kindness, playful energy, and deep humanity left a beautiful, unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
James leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife, Heather Melanson-Levy; his treasured daughter, Cora Levy; and his beloved son, Cullen Levy. He'll also be deeply missed by his loving mother, Susan Gifford; his sisters, Nichole Levy, Sherry Levy, Madalyn Levy, Katelyn Levy and Melissa McAlister. His vibrant spirit lives on through his many nieces – Asjylyn Butterbaugh, Aliemma Kanu, Serenity Levy, Isabel Levy, and Sienna McAlister – and nephews – Joel Levy, Isaiah Levy, Edwin Corcoran and Eoghan McAlister. His great-nieces, Ava Hough, Haven Hough, Lucie Lara, Delylah Labranche, and Burklee Niles along with a huge network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends, are all feeling this enormous void.
He's now reunited with loved ones who went before him: his father, Richard Levy; his maternal grandparents, James and Madalyn McLaughlin; his paternal grandparents, Florence and Harvey Paquin; the late Eugene Levy; his cherished lifelong friend, Adam Sands; and his cousin, Sean O’Brien. It's truly hard to imagine our world without him, and his absence will be felt profoundly by us all.
But knowing James, he wouldn't want us to dwell on sadness. He'd want us to celebrate! So, we're planning an "epic send-off" that perfectly captures his vibrant spirit. Please join us on August 8, 2026, at the ER Montgomery Event Center at 160 Bound Tree Rd., Contoocook, NH from 2PM-6PM to share stories, laughter, and memories as we celebrate his extraordinary life and the boundless joy he brought into our world. We'd absolutely love for you to honor his memory by wearing your brightest, happiest colors. James would prefer a party!
Please bring something to share- potluck style!
In true James fashion, he wouldn't want a ton of flowers. Instead, the family kindly asks that you make a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in James’s memory.
To those who are struggling- “If you are going through hell, keep going!” — with James Levy.
