NEWBURY NH - James Bartholomew Metsch, 83, died January 31, 2006 at the VA Hospital in White River Junction, VT. He was born in Manhattan, NY, September 30, 1922, to George and Rose (Kearns) Metsch. He was predeceased by his two brothers George and Edward. Jim was a U.S. Army combat veteran in the war at Normandy, France. Once discharged from the Army, he was a salesman in the furniture industry working for W&J Sloane for over 24 years and Drexel Heritage for over 30 years until his retirement. While Jim worked at W&J Sloane, he met his wife of 59 years, Holly (Lois Hollinger); they raised 3 sons; James Jr. of Maynard, MA, Robert Allen of Ellington, Conn. and Peter Kevin of Newbury, NH. Along with his 3 loving daughters-in-law, respectively Lucinda, Lizabeth, and Jill, he leaves 9 wonderful grandchildren and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren. Service: A memorial service is scheduled for February 18 at 1PM at Our Lady of Fatima in New London, NH.
