James Shanks

James Henderson Shanks, 72, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Wednesday December 1, 2022, at Crestwood Care & Rehab Center in Milford, NH. He was born July 7, 1950 at Chelsea Naval Hospital, Chelsea, MA and grew up in Wakefield, MA.  

James was a retired locomotive engineer from a major Railroad company. He then continued working in the transportation industry until a few years ago. He enjoyed being a licensed Ham Radio operator.

He is survived by his mother, Doris (Dean) Shanks of FL; brother, Michael G. Shanks of VA; two sisters, Brenda (Shanks)Saucier-USNR and husband Chuck of TN, and Pamela (Shanks) Griffith and husband Karl of VA; three nieces, Erika, Chelsea & Sarah; and one nephew, Jimmie-USN, all of VA.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie H. Shanks-USNR; his beloved wife, Denise (Mello) Shanks; and younger brother, Christopher G. Shanks.
