Jim met his future wife, Evelyn Nelson in the fall of 1964. They were engaged that December. On June 19, 1965 Jim and Evelyn were married at the Presbyterian Church in Londonderry, NH.
Jim worked for several manufacturing companies throughout his life. Including Doehla Greeting Card Company in 1965 and ending at Samina in 2001. Jim worked part time for a few more years after Samina, until fully retiring.
Jim and Evelyn spent many years camping in the White Mountains of NH with their daughters, as they were growing up. After their daughters were grown, Jim and Evelyn still spent time in the Lincoln, NH area and Wells Beach ME on vacations. They also did a bit of travelling to include trips to Las Vegas, Florida and a few trips to the Island of Aruba.
Jim was an avid Lottery player and nicknamed himself the “F.L.W.” (Future Lottery Winner). Jim said if he ever hit it big, he would buy a place in Aruba.
The source of Jim’s greatest joy was that of spending time with his grandchildren. Jim and Evelyn took all four of their grandchildren on vacations and day trips to include The Friendly Farm, and spent many summer days at the pool where they lived. Jim “Papa” never missed any of his grandchildren's events. Always cheering them on during their sports, and celebrating their accomplishments at school events.
