Jane Cauchon

Jane (McGlynn) Cauchon, 90, of Durham, N.H., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. She was born in Ossining, NY on October 16, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Claudia (Marcotte) McGlynn.

Jane was raised in Dover, NH along with her brother, Joe, and sister, Joyce. She graduated from Dover High School and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Quickly becoming restless in retirement, soon afterward she began a second career at the School for Lifelong Learning at the University of New Hampshire, where she simultaneously earned an associates degree.

Jane married Leo Cauchon on Feb. 22, 1955, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage together as they raised their five children, Joyce (Rowan), Dennis, Darryl, Brad and Claudia.

Although she and Leo lived briefly in New Orleans, Nashua and Peobody, Mass. early in their marriage, they eventually settled into their longtime home on Washington St. in 1970 in Dover and later a home in Durham, NH.

She had many interests and hobbies, including Volksmarching, thrifting, traveling, ceramics, reading, crafting, Scrabble and scrapbooking.

Along with her loving husband and devoted children, Jane is survived by her beloved nine grandchildren McGlynn, Emmett, Sara, Laura Mae, Justin, Dylan, Emily, and Ari, step-granddaughter Dawna, as well as four great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jackson, Carson and Isley. She was predeceased by her parents, brother and sister.
