Jane Louise Deubler

Jane Louise (Lord) Deubler, 70, of Brockton, MA and Brattleboro, VT died at home on September 29, 2021. Jane is survived by her devoted and loving husband Thomas and their sons, James P. of North Easton, MA and John C., his wife Jennifer A. and her grandchildren: Annalise Jane and Thomas James of Culver City, CA. She was the daughter of Dr. John P. and Helen A. Lord of Brattleboro, VT. She was the sister of Nancy Lord of South Portland, ME and Susan Flagler and her husband Richard of Richmond, NH.

A graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Jane earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Vermont. Her career began at Montefiore Hospital, New York City and continued at Yale New Haven Hospital, The Woods School, Langhorne, PA, Bay State Medical Center, Springfield, MA, and the Bridgewater Visiting Nurse Association. The last twenty-two years of her career, Jane was a clinical instructor in the LPN program at Southeastern Technical Institute, South Easton, MA. She retired in 2010.
In the summer of 2016, Jane was diagnosed with ovarian cancer which caused a rare paraneoplastic syndrome with cerebellar degeneration. Her life was saved by the incredible teams at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The last five years, despite the need for total care, she maintained her mental acuity, her love for family, friends, and her sense of humor. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile that brought comfort to both patients and caregivers.
Jane traveled the world, but she truly loved her house to be full of family and friends enjoying holidays or special occasions. She remained the consummate hostess throughout her illness.
