Janet "Jan" Morley Siers

Janet Morley Siers, 82, died holding the hands of her two daughters, June 9th, 2022 at Ridgewood Nursing Center in Bedford, NH.

She was born on March 19, 1940 in Hartford, CT, the daughter of Russell Clark Morley and Barbara Swift Morley and was the widow of Sherman Lee Siers.

She earned her associates degree at Colby College.  She was the proud owner of Jan’s Craft Corner for many years and then long retired as an administrative assistant at a number of companies.  She loved all of her jobs including her last at Puritan Press.

Jan is predeceased by her loving sister, Marilyn Tanner.  She is survived by her three children, John Russell Siers and his wife Sherrie, Aimee Elizabeth Siers, and Barbara (Barbie) Lee Trahan and her husband Scott.  Her precious grandchildren Jessica and Jake Trahan, and Cooper Siers.  She will be especially missed by her loving sister Marcia Hublitz and her husband Martin.  Marilyn’s husband Al Tanner and nieces Suzanne Weston and Nancy Tanner and their families.  Her best friend of almost 50 years, Toby Soifert, already misses her terribly.

Jan was an avid golfer until COPD only allowed her to enjoy watching her favorite sport.  And she loved watching the Patriots.  Teaching people how to craft of any kind was a real passion far after selling her craft store.  Known for a time as the bow lady, she made thousands of beautiful bows over the years, including all the bows as well as bouquets for her daughter Barbie’s wedding.  She could craft just about anything but really adored tole painting.  For many years you could find her at local weekend craft fairs selling her beautifully painted wares.  Her creativity came in handy as both her kids and grandchildren would say “maybe Grammy knows how to do that”.

In more recent years, she lived a quiet life.  Enjoying time with her family as often as possible.  She would often say…”you know what I like…I like your face” or “hello dahlin” when you called.  She could talk to anyone and would most likely know your life story within minutes of meeting her, whether you wanted to or not 😊.  She had a way about her that made people feel comfortable.  She was kind and loved playing games.  Rummikub was her favorite and she won more than she lost.

A note from one her grandchildren: “Grammy’s time here was just so special, she was always so happy and had a smile on her face.  Her smile was just so contagious.  When she was smiling so was everyone else.  She was also so nice to everyone and always loving.  Grammy truly made this world a better and happier place.  She left us as she was always with us, happy and peacefully; couldn’t ask for anything more.  Grammy will always be with us and looking down at us with a smile on her face”.

And that says it all.  We love and miss you.
