Janet M. Sylvester

Janet Mae (Dionne) Sylvester, 69, died August 16, 2024 in Milford, NH. She was born on May 18, 1955 in Manchester, NH the daughter of Andre and Lorraine (Bilodeau) Dionne. She is the long-time partner of Arthur Tsakalos. They resided together in Manchester, along with two cats and many plants. 

She graduated from Goffstown High School, Class of 1973. She raised her active family in Manchester, and was a devoted provider and outspoken cheerleader. 

Her family will always remember her, and rejoices in all the love she gave, including the phrase “All 4 Love” Janet loved family, friends, music, sewing, gardening, Candy Crush, General Hospital, and bingo with her sisters. She loved her annual beach vacations with Arthur and deep-sea fishing. She belonged to social clubs where she played in cribbage tournaments and dart leagues. Most of all, she loved to have some fun! Janet will be missed and never forgotten.

She is predeceased by her former husband Henry Sylvester, Jr. and her parents.

She is survived by Arthur and her four children: Angie Fitzreiter and her husband Donald of Billerica, MA, Andy Sylvester of Boston, MA, Arlene Coffey and her husband Brian of Dixmont, ME, and April McKay and her husband Joshua of Manchester, NH; a granddaughter Gloria Coffey; two sisters, Joyce Williamson and her partner Gary Ray of Nottingham, NH, and Joann Warriner of Allenstown, NH; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 5-8pm with a celebration of life service at 6:30pm at The Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester.

Interment and brief committal prayers will be held on Friday, September 6th at 10:30am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Goffstown Road in Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
