Janet Young, 82, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024. In 1967, she and her beloved husband, Tommy, embarked on a new adventure, immigrating to the United States. They first settled in Massachusetts before making New Hampshire their home. There, they welcomed two sons, Iain and Graeme, into their lives.
Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Janet was one of eight children. Despite moving far from home, she remained deeply connected to her family, nurturing relationships with loved ones in Scotland, Wales, and Australia. Janet worked tirelessly to create a life filled with love and laughter, both in the home and the community. Before retiring, she worked in the office for the Rockingham Visiting Nurses Association, where she contributed her time and care to helping others. Upon retirement, she embraced the joys of being a grandmother, aunt, and friend, spending her days traveling far and wide, never letting language barriers prevent her from making new connections. Janet was a woman of deep faith, living a life marked by service, kindness, and generosity. Family remained the cornerstone of her life, and her relationships were more valuable to her than any hobby.
She is survived by her siblings Harry, Billy, Lilias, and Ann, her sons Iain and Graeme, and her four grandchildren: Cameron, Mitchell, Talliesin, and Sofia. She also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews who adored her. Janet will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Always friendly, with a smile for everyone, Janet was a light that will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
