Janice Lorraine Hewitt, of Bristol New Hampshire, passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 80. Born March 12, 1945, in Mystic, Connecticut, Janice was a kind soul of deep religious faith who gave freely of herself to others and to charitable causes. She was a lover of God, nature, people, and all things Winter. Janice lived her life fully in both service and joy.
After graduating St Bernard’s High School in Uncasville, CT, Janice pursued Nursing studies at Boston College before shifting her focus to computer sciences. Pursuing a passion for skiing and mountains, she headed West in her early years before eventually settling back in New Hampshire, where she met and married the love of her life, Charlie Hewitt. Together they built a rich life filled with love, nature, spirit, and community. Charlie was called home before Janice. She is survived by her sister, Judy Bobinski; her brother-in-law Ken Hewitt; nephews Brett and Scott Hewitt; and nieces Michelle Murphy, Christine Bobinski, and Kimberly Edwards.
A service of remembrance for Janice will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Chapel, 2 West Shore Road in Bristol, NH. Friends and family are invited for a luncheon afterward at the church. A separate short interment service will be held on Monday, April 27 at 1pm at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen, NH.
