Jasper J. Harding

Jasper "J J" J. Harding, 89, of Concord died December 19, 2003 at Havenwood Nursing Home after a period of declining health. Mr. Harding was born on February 21, 1914 in West Lebanon, NH the son of the late Winn and Mabel (Kinney) Harding. He opened Harding Hardware in Rowayton, CT in 1949 which he operated for 23 years. He retired in 1973 and was considered a handyman extraordinaire. He was a former President of the Connecticut Hardware Association, a charter member of the United Church of Rowayton and Past President of the Rotary Club. Prior to moving to Havenwood Heritage Heights with his wife in 1991, the couple spent many summers at Ragged Mountain in Andover. He enjoyed golfing and boating. Family members include; his wife of 70 years, Natalie (Mitchell) Harding; two daughters, Betty H. Longley of Rowayton, CT and Gloria H. Kiss of Shelton, CT; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service at Havenwood Heritage Heights at a later date.
