Jay Dickinson Adams of Bellows Falls VT, formerly of Wethersfield CT, died peacefully at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon NH on February 18, 2021, with his nephew, Kristopher Dobie, at his side. Jay was born on March 2,1947 in Hartford CT, son of Shirley Scott Adams and Jalon Dickinson Adams.

He spent his childhood in Wethersfield CT and was a member of the Wethersfield High School class of 1965. He was employed by the Pequot Springs Water Company in Glastonbury CT and later was employed by the Salvation Army as Director of the Men's Shelter in New Britain CT. In 2001, after receiving a cancer diagnosis, he relocated to NH to be closer to family and went on to retire from Smiths Medical in Keene NH in 2011.

Jay not only courageously battled cancer but also alcohol addiction. At the time of his death he had enjoyed 28 years of sobriety. Jay enjoyed baking, sharing his baked goods with family and friends, enjoyed photographing wildlife along the Connecticut River, and researching family genealogy.

Jay is survived by his sister Darlene Adams and her partner William Hladky of Las Cruces NM, his nephew, Kristopher Dobie and his wife, Szu-Hui and their children, Emma and Alexander of Newfields NH, and his companion Carol Fullam of Bellows Falls VT. Jan Adams, his sister predeceased him.
