Jay Ann Higgins

Jay Ann (Nelson) Higgins, 69, of Manchester, NH, Passed away on June 9, 2023.

Jay was born to Carl Richard Nelson, and Katherine (Corliss) Nelson on April 26, 1954. She graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1972.

Jay Married the love of her life Michael F. Higgins Jr. on October 2, 1976. They welcomed their only daughter Jacki on November 6, 1977.

Jay worked at the Union Leader Corporation in the advertising department for 19 years. She then took an early retirement to care for her father and her newborn grandson.

Jay loved nothing more than sitting by the lake with her family enjoying the view, having campfires, and playing board games.

Her love for her family was unconditional.

Jay is survived by her husband Michael F. Higgins Jr.; Daughter, Jacki (Higgins) Bennett, and husband Robert Bennett of Manchester, NH; grandsons Colin and Liam McQuillen of Manchester, NH; Brother, Richard Nelson of Lebanon, NH; Sister, Dee Nelson, and partner Frank Ridley of Watertown, MA; Niece, Samantha (Nelson) Spears, husband Brian, and two children, of Houston, Texas; Niece, Katy McGinnis of Memphis, TN; Nephew, Jay Nelson of Lowell, Ma; Niece, Andrea (Nelson) Spechler, and husband Philip of Tulsa, OK.

Jay was predeceased by her Father Carl Richard Nelson, Mother Katherine (Corliss)Nelson, and Sister Joanne (Nelson) McGinnis.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
