Jeanne Bonin (Paskevich) Rooney, 75 of Manchester, NH passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 19, 1948, in Ossining, NY, daughter of the late Vernon and Kathryn (Feerick) Bonin. Jeanne spent the first few years of her life in Ossining before moving with her family to the beloved homestead in Pittsfield, VT where she soon gained her little sister Judith. Jeanne lived a happy childhood with her family and many friends, spending a great deal of time riding her horses and making princess pine wreaths at Christmas time. She would later in life marry her childhood friend Kevin Rooney on August 17, 2013.
Jeanne graduated from Whitcomb High School in Bethel, VT and went on for her undergraduate work at the University of Vermont eventually earning her master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Living most of her adult life in Manchester NH, she retired from the Goffstown NH school district where she was highly regarded as a skilled therapist who loved “her kids”.
Spending time with family and friends, cherishing her beloved cats and ferret, adventurous traveling across the country and to places like Ireland and Africa, many trips to Las Vegas and Florida, enjoying the beach, camping and kayaking, and relaxing on her deck were activities she enjoyed and defined her spirit. She was always the life of the party and in several cases the reason we all got together.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin Rooney of Manchester, NH; sister Judith Hawley and husband Andrew of Pittsfield, VT; son William Paskevich III and wife Melanie of Chittenden, VT; daughter Sara Donnelly and husband Stephen of Gorham, ME; daughter Kristen Marrion and husband Alex of Pembroke, NH; stepson Joshua Rooney and wife Jessica of Essex Junction, VT; nephew Caleb Hawley and wife Coral of Pittsfield, VT and their children Tucker and Tessa. Along with several nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Jeanne has eight grandchildren that she adored and who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”: Ethan, Mia, Ryder, Samuel, Lia, Nathan, Maeve, and Henry.
Jeanne will be missed by all who knew her adventurous and bright spirit, and our memories of her will be cherished forever. We miss you, Nana.
