Jeannine S. (Sauvard) Kolb died on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. Ann Rehabilitation and
Nursing Center in Dover, New Hampshire. She was born in St. Gaultier, France,
on April 12, 1934 to Marcel and Marguerite (Deforge) Sauvard, and was the second of four children.
Jeannine was a teacher in Montessori schools in the Portsmouth-Kittery area for decades using song, cooking, art and theatre to share her love of French with children. A true Renaissance woman and a fearless adventurer, she will be remembered as a loving inspiration to her many friends and family all over the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law, Tony Cennamo, and her grandson, Collin Evans.
In the United States, she is survived by her devoted companion, Ray DeMarco; her five
children, Carine Kolb, Diana (& Mike) Miles, Alan Kolb, Valerie Kolb, Eric (& Courtney) Kolb; her grandchildren Chadley (& Nikki), Julia, Corey, Austin, Katy, Christopher, Ezra, Milo, Sierra, Tristen and Flynn; her great-granddaughter, Lily, as well as 2 great-grandsons due in January; and the father of her five children, Paul Kolb. In France, she is survived by her siblings, Jean (& Ghislaine) Sauvard, Michel Sauvard, Francoise (& Jacky) Graindorge, and her many nieces and nephews.
A musical memorial will be held in the summer of 2018 to celebrate Jeannine's life with her many loved ones.
The Kolb family would like to thank the staff of St. Ann's for taking care of our mom during her final months.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, a foundation with which Jeannine volunteered in Burkina Faso, Africa, teaching young girls and orphans in need. The experience remained one of her fondest memories.
