Jeffrey Stetson, 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his “Happy Place,” Sugar Ridge, surrounded by his loving family and holding the hand of his precious wife, Patty.

Jeffrey was born on May 8, 1953, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, the son of the late Dr. Harvey and Phylis (Proctor) Stetson. He was raised in Lyndon Center, where he made many lifelong friendships and cherished the time spent with his “Lyndon Center Buddies.”

Jeffrey graduated from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1972, where he was proudly named “Ski Meister.” He continued his education at Champlain College, graduating in 1974 with an associate degree.

On July 16, 1994, Jeffrey married the love of his life, Patty (Rodgers) Stetson. Together, they made their home in St. Johnsbury Center and built a life centered around family, love, and countless treasured memories with their daughters, Kelly and Jessica.

Above all else, Jeff’s greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed spending time with Patty, his daughters, and especially his five grandchildren, of whom he was incredibly proud of. Some of his happiest moments were spent camping with family and friends and enjoying winters in Florida with Patty as snowbirds.

Jeff was an avid NASCAR fan and a member of the St. Johnsbury Elks Lodge #1343, as well as American Legion Posts 58 and 30 in St. Johnsbury and Lyndon. He also took great pride in his beautiful flowers, which were admired by many. Those who knew Jeff will also fondly remember his beloved pet bird, “Pecker.”

Jeffrey was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Harvey and Phylis Stetson; his sister, Diane Stetson; and his niece, Sarah Leach.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Patty “Linda” Stetson; his loving and supportive daughters, Kelly Lemieux and her husband, Justin, and Jessica Chase and her husband, Ryan; and his five cherished grandchildren, Adriana, Cole, and Trevor Lemieux, and Olivia and Lucy Chase. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held at the St. Johnsbury Elks Lodge #1343 on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join Patty and the family in sharing memories and celebrating a life well lived. A luncheon will be provided following the celebration.
