Jennifer N. Galatis, 35, of Concord, NH, passed away at home, on January 15th, with loving family by her side.
Jennifer was born on November 22, 1986 in Malden, Massachusetts. She was the youngest daughter of Diane (Delaire) Bell and Peter Galatis Sr. Though born in MA, Jennifer was first brought home to Concord, NH, where she lived for most of her life.
Jennifer graduated from Concord High School in 2005, with dreams of becoming a sports journalist. She was a devoted Red Sox fan, loving them even when they were losing (she’d tell you, no one lost better than the Sox), and she was one terrific writer. However, Jenny changed her mind and surprised us all when she decided to move down to Boston for a while, trying her hand at being a chef, as the new owner of Mike & Patty’s, in the Back Bay. Turned out, Jennifer had found her calling. She loved to cook. And she was good at it.
As a child, Jennifer was silly, cheerful, and adventurous. Always covered in dirt, climbing on something, and wanting to be just like her big brother. She loved spending the day exploring at the beach, and going for long car rides, to nowhere in particular, with music playing, and us singing along so loudly, we’d lose our voices.
Jennifer knew firsthand how hard and unkind life could be, but she still believed in the goodness of others, and never lost hope in there being a brighter side, and a reason to smile. She was loved deeply, and will be missed just as much, by so many of us.
Jennifer is survived by her mother and stepfather, Diane (Delaire) and Robert Bell lll, of Rochester, NH; her father, Peter Galatis Sr., of Gloucester, MA; her sister and brother-in-law, Alycia (Galatis) and Tristan Dow, of Concord, NH; her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Stacy (Blackman) Galatis, of Chichester, NH; her brother, Nathan Bell, of Rochester, NH; her cherished nephews and nieces, Ty, Nicholas, Theadoula, Aiden, and Lilly; and her boyfriend, Evan Cote, of Concord, NH.
SERVICES: Family and friends are invited to gather together on Wednesday, January 26th, at 11am, at Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street, Boscawen, NH. A memorial service will follow at 12pm, with Rev. Constantine Newman, of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, officiating the service.
