Jeremy Preston St. James, 44, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his home in Moultonborough, NH after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

Jeremy was born on April 15, 1981, in Berlin, NH. He was the son of Ellen and Peter St. James.

He moved with his family to Moultonborough in 1990 and graduated from Moultonborough Academy in 1999.

After high school, Jeremy worked in the restaurant business and then at Ledgewood Farm in Moultonborough, where farming and greenhouse production were labors of love for him.

Jeremy found his true calling when he began his two-year coursework followed by a two-year apprenticeship in the plumbing trade. He went on to complete a Journeyman Plumber License as well as a Gasfitter License and was planning to attain a Master Plumber License. Jeremy worked for his great friend, Nick Boewe. Jeremy’s dedication to exemplary workmanship was consistently shown through his craft.

Jeremy had many passions and applied his impressive mechanical aptitude and abilities to them all even in his last days when he designed a reverse osmosis machine for his family’s home sugaring production. His design and woodworking skills resulted in many beautiful and functional pieces in his home and for family. Always ready for adventure, Jeremy enjoyed fishing, seldom explored places, guitar, gold panning, and could often be found driving and riding all manner of mechanized machinery.

Jeremy’s love of family and friends brightened the lives of all he encountered. Surviving family members are his loving wife and caregiver, Lauren, of Moultonborough; mother Ellen St. James Knight and stepfather Robert Knight of Moultonborough; father Peter St. James and stepmother Rhonda of Warner, NH; brother Justin St. James and wife Elizabeth of Essex, VT; niece Eleanor St. James of Essex, VT; uncle Edward Person and wife Deborah of Moultonborough.

Private arrangements will be made at the convenience of the family.

In memory of Jeremy, be kind, helpful, and enjoy nature.
