It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeremy W. Stone. Jeremy was born on September 30th, 1982, in Bristol, CT. He was born to James and Dianne (Cochran) Stone. Jeremy passed unexpectedly on August 9th, 2025.
Before Jeremy could walk, he developed a passion for music, a passion that continued throughout his adult life. When people think of Jeremy, it is often a memory with a guitar in his hands. He was a very talented guitarist and was frequently found jamming with his friends whenever he could.
Jeremy was known for his quick wit and humor, as well as his infectious laugh. He was very kind and beyond generous. Jeremy would have given anyone the shirt off his back, even if it meant he was left with nothing. He brought creativity and kindness wherever he went. Jeremy knew who he was and lived in the moment, “forever trusting who we are, and nothing else matters (Metallica)”.
Jeremy is survived by his father, James Stone; Aunts and uncles: Mike and Collen Stone (Hampden, MA), Donna Stone (Rehoboth, MA), Pat and Cary Caron (Hartdale, NY), Leann and Joe Krenicki (Harwinton, CT), Sonja Beliview (Bristol, CT), Dennis Cochran (Bristol, CT); his step brothers and their families as well as Todd Steven’s who Jeremy considered a brother.
Jeremy was pre-deceased by his mother, Dianne Stone, his grandparents, Phyllis and Arnold Cochran, as well as Evelyn and William Stone.
A service will be held at Addison County Eagles Club at 67 New Haven Road in Vergennes on August 30th at 1:00pm. There will be a live band to celebrate Jeremy, and anyone who has inspiration is encouraged to sing or perform at his celebration.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the NFI group at 30 Airport Rd, South Burlington, VT 05403.
