Jerome Ford

Jerome Ford, 82, of Pelham died January 26, 2005 at Pleasant Valley Health Care in Derry following complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Mr. Ford was born on August 16, 1922 in East Boston, MA the son of the late Michael and Mary (Clark) Ford. He was a U S Army veteran who served in World War II. In 1945, while stationed in England during the war, he met and married Joyce Gibson. He returned to Boston with his wife and began working for the Naval Shipyard. He was a ship fitter for General Ship where he remained until he retired. Upon retirement, he and his wife relocated to Pelham where they have lived for the past 30 years. Jerome was a talented handyman and woodworker, building furniture and toys and other precious tokens for his family . He enjoyed art and horse racing. He was a very pleasing man, dedicated husband and father. Family members include; his wife of 59 years, Joyce (Gibson) Ford; two sons, Rodney Ford of Newton, MA and Richard Ford of Hudson, NH; two daughters, Diane DeMoura of Taunton, MA and Joyce Gormley of Pelham, NH; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ford was the last of 12 children. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Reception will be held on Monday, January 31st from 10:30 until 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover St. in Manchester. Burial will take place at a later date in the Gibson Cemetery in Pelham. In lieu of donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 10 Ferry Street, Suite 427B, Concord, NH 03301.
