Jessica J Colburn

Jessica J. (McGinnin) Colburn, 39, passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday January 25, 2023, after a seven year bout with cancer. She was born on September 26, 1983 to Timothy J. McGinnin Sr. and Lisa M. Grenier. She was raised in Manchester, NH. She was the wife of Richard Colburn, mother to Brian and Christian, and step-mother to Hayden, Alex, and Chase. She lived in Weare, NH with her family and beloved pets Halo the dog and Gizmo the cat.

Jessica worked at John Stark Regional High School in Special Education and also volunteered with Best Buddies New Hampshire. She was passionate about the work she did with her students and buddies in the program. She was even recognized as Teacher of the Month by WZID in September 2020 for the amazing work that she did. During times when she had to be out of work with her illness, it pained her to be away from her students and colleagues whom she forged strong relationships with over the years.

As passionate as she was about the work she did, she was even more so about her family. Jessica loved her family deeply and sacrificially. She was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, auntie, cousin, and so much more.

She was a devout follower of Jesus and an avid prayer warrior who truly loved the Lord with everything she had. In the midst of her challenges with cancer, she could see God’s purposes in all of it. She often would talk about how God used the difficulty of her illness to draw her closer to Him and through that relationship with God, to live her life with intentionality around the purposes that she was created for. Jessica was a member of Trinity Life Community in Bedford, NH where she loved to sing on the worship team.

Jessica is survived by her husband Richard; sons Brian and Christian; step-sons Hayden, Alex, and Chase; parents Timothy McGinnin Sr. and Lisa Grenier, Siblings Timothy McGinnin Jr. (and wife Selina), Sean McGinnin (and wife Lindsey), Hayley Provost (and husband Josh), and Alex Bissonnette; grandparents Don and Bea Bergeron; as well many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family members.  

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00pm on Saturday February 4^th, 2023, at Trinity Life Community, 12 Station Rd., Bedford, NH 03110 with her brother, Rev. Tim McGinnin Jr. officiating. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
