She is survived by her loving wife of 17 years, Michele Kresco; her father John Lefeber of Port Orange, Florida; her mother Judy Armandez and stepfather James Oliff; her brother Josh Lefeber, sister Hannah Etedgi, and her niece and nephews, all of Tampa, Florida. She leaves behind a plethora of friends who adored her.

Jo-Ann was born on February 13, 1975, in Syracuse, NY. A graduate of Le Monye College, she dedicated her life to helping others by beginning her career with the New York State government, where she provided vital assistance and services to individuals in need. After earning her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Assumption College, she relocated to southern New Hampshire to continue helping others as a rehabilitation counselor with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She then worked for the Granite State Independent Living by helping underserved students with disabilities gain confidence and prepare for life after high school. Her passion for supporting people through life’s challenges was evident in every aspect of her work.

Known for her zest for life and adventurous spirit, Jo-Ann often embarked on spontaneous road trips to explore a new trail or park. Her unique sense of humor, magnetic personality, and deep compassion made her unforgettable to all who knew her. Friends described her as courageous, vibrant, and a joy to spend time with. Jo-Ann exuded positivity, kindness, and carried an empathy that seemed contagious. Whether with close friends or strangers, she had an uncanny ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her unconditional love and kindness will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

In recent years, Jo-Ann found joy in photography and beachcombing alongside her wife. In the past few months, she enjoyed painting and creating sculptures using found objects that included driftwood from local beaches.

Throughout her life, Jo-Ann remained a source of light and strength—always focusing on the wellbeing of others. She approached life with unwavering positivity and grace. Even during her most difficult days over the past few months, she radiated warmth and compassion, often putting the needs of her wife before her own.

In her final wishes, she asked loved ones to celebrate life by cherishing small pleasures, reconnecting with old friends, spending time in nature, practicing gratitude, and engaging in meaningful activities.

A celebration of Jo-Ann’s life will be held at a future date.
