Jo-Ann Marie Whitworth

Jo-Ann Marie Whitworth, 82, of Manchester, NH, passed away on September 27, 2023 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center. Born in Quincy, MA on March 1, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Edith (Dowell) Powers. She shared 22 years of marriage with her late husband, Lynn Whitworth.

Jo-Ann was raised in East Bridgewater, MA, and raised her family in Plymouth, MA. She worked for many years as a Restaurant Manager in MA, and later changed careers to become a Behavioral Specialist with the Center for Drug Free Living, when she moved to Florida. Above all else, she was a loving mother, nana, sister, and friend. She moved back to New Hampshire in 2011 to be closer to her family. Jo-Ann was a friend of Bill for 53 years. 

Jo-Ann is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Queenan and her husband, Winfred van Mourik; her son, James Queenan; her grandson, Ryker van Mourik; her sister, Judith Currier; her brother, Richard Powers and his wife, Kathy; several nieces and nephews; her dear friends Sue, Rosie, Jean, Lynne and Peggy; as well as extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Powers; her sister-in-law, Jane; Robert Sr; and her dear friends Millie, Bonnie and Tina.

Jo-Ann’s family would like to thank the staff at Maple Leaf Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care during her time there.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
