Joan Dunn

Joan Gail (Garber) Dunn, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, with her life partner, Robert G. McKenna at her side.

Joan was battling end stage lung cancer for the past few years. She was born on October 5, 1934, the daughter of Willard and Carrie (Leadbetter) Garber in Cambridge, MA. Joan and Robert were together for 26 years and lived at various homes in Florida and Massachusetts. Their home in Hudson, NH was her favorite.

Joan attended Somerville High School. She was a home maker and worked at various jobs during her life including an elevator operator back in the day. She loved crocheting afghans and was gifted at needlepoint.

Joan is predeceased by her brother, Richard E. Garber, late husband of Anne Garber.

Joan is survived by her brother, Donald and his wife Sheila of Dracut, MA and their children; sister-in-law, Anne Garber of Dracut, MA and their children; daughter, Cheryl (Muzzy) Zabriskie and her husband Joseph of Colorado and her children; son, Scott Muzzy and his wife Kelly of Townsend, MA; and grandchildren, Dean and Casey of Townsend, MA.

Joan was also loved by Robert's family including his 4 children,10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She will be surely missed for her kind ways and sharp Boston wit.

ARRANGEMENTS: Joan will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford, MA in a private service.
