Joan Marie Jeffery

Joan Marie (Shaw) Jeffery, age 77, of Concord, NH died on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Concord Hospital. She was the wife of the late James Berkley Jeffery who died in 1985. She was born July 7, 1932 in Keene, NH. She graduated from Keene High School in 1950. Joan was employed as a fashion coordinator for Sears and Roebuck, Co. for over 15 years. She also owned and operated Joni's Hairstyling Parlor in Concord for over 10 years. She was a well known local artist, avid genealogist and historian. She was a member of many local groups including: NH Historical Society, NH Society of Genealogists, the NH Old Graveyard Association, the VT Old Graveyard Association, the Dustin Family Association and the NH State Employees Association. Her family remembers her love of travel and her extensive trips abroad. Joan is also remembered for her love of flowers and always seemed to prefer pink. She is survived by her son: Kevin Allen Jeffery of Concord, NH; a daughter: Megan Joan Jeffery of Montgomery, AL; a step-daughter: Carol Linda Jeffery of Swanzey, NH; two brothers: Robert G. Shaw of Wheatridge, CO, Harry Shaw of Keene, NH; a sister: Juli M. Turner of Brookfield, NH; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is predeceased by her son, Shawn Stuart Jeffery. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 11:30am in the West Congregational Church, Concord, NH. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
