Joan L. (Hardy) Rampulla, 61, Passed away on March 26, 2025, after a courageous six-year Cancer battle. Joan was born on 10/11/1963 to Herbert and Mildred (Coulter) Hardy.
Joan grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School in 1981, then went on to a Culinary School in Berlin, NH. After her schooling was done, she worked for Rodd’s Automotive, and Grappone Automotive as a parts driver. She worked for many animal shelters including the Boscawen Animal Shelter as an Animal Cruelty Investigator. She found a field she loved with rescuing animals and being an advocate for them. Joan and her partner Shawn were failures at fostering because they always fell in love with the animals (what is one more Shawn would say). Joan worked for the US Postal service for about 10 years before medically retiring.
Joan received the Hometown Hero award for taking time to help an older person in her community that was shoveling a foot of snow on their roof. She told them to get down, would be back after her route to complete the task. Joan stood by her word and returned to complete the task.
Joan and Shawn enjoyed traveling to Puerto Rico each year. She was the type of person that if you met her and you needed anything she would be there. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Joan is survived by her wife, 23 years, Shawn Rampulla and leaves behind her sister-in-law Mary Hardy, nephew Bruce Richard Jr, niece and her husband Theresa Samaniego, (Ramon) all of NH. Many loving friends. 3 cats; BJ, Ringo, Raindrop, and 1 dog Manny.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Herbert W. and Mildred A. (Coulter) Hardy, and post deceased by her brother Harold “Herbie” Hardy on July 23, 2025. Shawn would like to thank DHMC in Lebanon, N.H. for providing excellent care.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Audubon Society on Silk Farm Road in Concord at 11AM – 3PM
In lieu of flowers please consider bringing shelter items such as food, treats, cleaning supplies, and toys, to be donated to the surrounding rescue shelter in Joan’s Memory.
