JoAnn E. Hascup, 76, of Warner, NH passed away early Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 following an intense battle with cancer.
JoAnn was born June 22, 1941 in Jersey City, NJ to John and Adeline (Connell) Granstrand. Throughout her life she held residences in Jersey City, Ridgewood, NJ, Laconia, NH, Murrells Inlet, SC, and most recently, Warner, NH.
Though she worked in banking at Laconia Savings for a period of time, JoAnn was primarily a homemaker, lovingly raising her family and fostering their hopes and dreams. In her spare time, she enjoyed countless rounds of golf, visiting local beaches, reading, and crewel work. She loved cooking for her family and possessed an unparalleled generosity of spirit and caring nature.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Bruce Mele of Nashua, NH, Brian Mele of Murrells Inlet, SC, Craig Mele and wife, Maura, of Raymond, NH, and Scott Mele and Wife, Suzanne of Contoocook, NH; his brother, Jack Granstrand and wife, Ceil; sisters, Margaret Baudendistel and husband, Dave, Mark Granstrand and wife, Kathy, and Mary Ruth Burns; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. JoAnn is predeceased by her husband, John.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00am at St. Theresa's Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Rd, Henniker, NH 03242, on June 22nd which would have been JoAnn's 77th birthday. There will be a graveside service for the family immediately following where JoAnn will be placed to rest with her husband, John. In lieu of flowers, donations in JoAnn's memory may be made to CRVNA Hospice House, The Slusser Center, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301 in appreciation of the skilled nursing and compassionate care provided to JoAnn and her family during her final days.
