Joanne F. LeCount Joanne F. LeCount, 73, of Mason, New Hampshire, died peacefully at home on July 15, 2008. She was the daughter of Dorothy and Irving K. Fearn, formerly of Norwich, Conn. Joanne grew up in Norwich and lived with her husband Peter in New Kensington, Penn., Bangor, Maine, North Branford, Conn., and Sudbury and Littleton, Mass., before their retirement to Ashford, Conn. and finally Mason. Joanne was an avid animal enthusiast, raising Nubian dairy goats for thirty years and adopting retired greyhounds. She was a shorthand-era graduate of the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston and worked in a pathologist's office before starting her family. More recently, she volunteered at the Littleton Congregational Church and the Ashford and Mason town libraries. She loved reading and continued learning and sharing her knowledge of nature throughout her life. Her family and many friends will always remember her humor, compassion and companionship. Joanne is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Peter, daughter Diane Johanson of Clermont, Fla., son William of Baldwinville, Mass., and daughter Jane LaGoy and husband Levi of Pepperell, Mass. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Noelle Johanson of Clermont, Fla., and Leeanne Johanson of Lyndeborough and four great-grandchildren. Her sister Margaret Gilbert resides in Uncasville, Conn., and she was predeceased by brother William Fearn and sister Dorothy Olsen. A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 3rd at 2 PM at the Mason Congregational Church, 33 Valley Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
