Joel D. Vallee, 52 of Merrimack, NH passed away on April 3, 2021 at Lahey Clinic Hospital with his family by his side. Joel was born in Newburyport, MA on March 16, 1969, the only child of Judy (Dodge) Blanchette and the late Louis Vallee. He grew up in Newburyport and Byfield, MA and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School class of 1988.
In 1991, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. After basic training he was stationed in Long Beach CA, Anchorage, Alaska and Japan. In 1996, after his honorable discharge from the military, Joel decided it was time to move back to the East coast to be closer to family and settled in NH. Joel was employed for many years as a store manager for Circuit City. In 2007, he started his own trucking company and has spent the last 12 years employed by USPS in Nashua, NH.
In 2005, Joel met his future wife Tracy (Hayden). They married in 2010 and have a four year old son Lucas and two year old daughter Layna who were Joel's whole world. Joel loved to be outdoors. He would take any chance he had to go fishing, play golf, and in his younger years play ice hockey. He was an avid New England sports fan; especially the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a kind, extremely generous and fun loving man, loved by all who knew him. His passing has left a void in so many hearts.
Besides his wife and children, Joel is survived by his mother and step father, Judy and George Blanchette of Londonderry, NH; step brother, George E. Blanchette of Crystal River, FL; step sister, Lisa King and her husband Moe of Hillsborough, NH; mother in law, Joanne Hayden of Nashua, NH; sister and brother in law, Heather and Mike Rampino of Amherst, NH; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. Those in attendance are respectfully requested to wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Memorial services will be private.
