John James Bongiovanni

John James Bongiovanni

John James Bongiovanni, 82, of Epsom, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at Ridgewood Nursing Home in Bedford after a brief illness.

He was born in East Boston, Massachusetts on March 20, 1924, the son of the late Antonio and Amelia (Conte) Bongiovanni. He attended schools in Boston and was a World War II Army Veteran. He lived most of his life in Deerfield. He worked in road and building construction for many years in Massachusetts. He was a member of the Massachusetts Laborer’s Union. After his retirement from construction, he worked for the State of NH for ten years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, the Red Sox, and his family.

In his Life: He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys E. (Hudson) Bongiovanni who died in 1998 a son, James J. Bongiovanni who died in 2001, a brother, Dominic and a sister, Catherine.

He is survived by his two daughters, Dori Bongiovanni of Concord and Judey Clemons of Ctr. Barnstead; a sister Angelina Aimola of Quincy, MA; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen, on Friday, November 3 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Route 3, Boscawen, NH 03303 or to Deerfield Youth Baseball, c/o Joyce Pelletier, 49 Old Center Road, Deerfield, NH 03037.
