John E. Connor

John E. Connor of Derry, NH died May 1st after a sudden illness. Born March 1, 1934, in Ossining, NY to Ralph & Helen (Shea) Connor.

He was a scholar at MIT, NYU and Drexel University earning a BA and master’s degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering.  John was a veteran having served in the US Army Signal Corps. His career as an electrical and software engineer was highlighted by his participation in the Apollo Project.

He loved traveling, reading and solving puzzles. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, MaryAnn (Schubert) Connor; 3 children, Eileen (Tom) Walthall of Port Charlotte, FL, Peter (Maureen) Connor of Litchfield, NH, and Patrick (Julie) Connor of Berkley, MA; 7 granddaughters, Abby Barrett, Katy McAuliffe, Megan Connor, Molly Connor, Christine Walthall, Shannon Walthall, and Anna Connor; and 1 great-granddaughter, Evangeline Barrett. He is also survived by a brother, Ralph J. Connor of SC. He is predeceased by his sister Ellen A. Sorensen. 

The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 13th.
