John Francis Foster

John Francis Foster, 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 1, 2018 at St. Teresa's Nursing and Rehab. Son of the late Thomas and Lydia (Marcel) Foster, he was born in Goffstown on June 21, 1940. He enjoyed 56 years of marriage with his wife, Catherine (Zielinski) Foster.

John was raised and educated in the Manchester area before serving in the United States Army. He later went on to work in the supply and distribution department at the VA Medical Center in Manchester for 30 years. John loved the outdoors, especially camping and hunting. He also enjoyed working on cars. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, John cherished time spent with family. After retirement, he and his wife sold their home and traveled all around the continental US, and also enjoyed twelve years living in Florida.

John leaves behind his wife, Catherine Foster of Manchester; his sons, John Foster Jr. and wife Debra of Allenstown, and Scott Foster and wife Elizabeth of Manchester; two brothers, Brooks and Richard Foster; grandchildren Derek, Nathan, Olivia, Danielle, and Mathieu; great-grandchildren Hunter and Mason; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Donald, Robert and Ronald Foster, and his sister, Katherine Santos.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, March 5th from 6-8pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover St, Manchester.
John's family would like to thank the staff at St. Teresa's Nursing and rehab for the kind and compassionate care he received in the four and a half years he spent in their care. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the St. Teresa's Rehab and Nursing Activities fund, 519 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
