John R. Gamble

John Robert Gamble, 60, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of, Quincy, MA died July 25, 2003 at his home. Mr. Gamble was born on January 11, 1943 in Boston, MA and lived his childhood and younger life in the Hough's Neck section of Quincy, MA. He was known to his friends as "The Wedge." He attended Quincy schools and Norfolk Agricultural School in Walpole, MA. He loved animals and open spaces which is what brought him to New Hampshire 33 years ago. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served two tours "in Country" as a Sergeant 1st Class. He was with the 7th Cavalry and the 101st Airborne Division. He also served in Germany. He enjoyed gardening, the ocean, boating and spending time helping out at his brother's boat yard in the 1970's. John was a Teamster Union Steward at Anheuser Busch in Merrimack, NH for many years before becoming ill. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Grace (Young) Gamble; a daughter, Teresa R. "Terri" Sicard of Belton, So. Carolina; two sons, John R. Gamble Jr. and Patrick A. Gamble of Londonderry, NH; one grandson, Joshua Sicard of Belton, So. Carolina; four sisters, Leslie Martinez of San Antonio, Texas, Catherine Snyder of Litchfield, NH, Lois Bradley of Wilmington, MA and Teresa La Duc of Londonderry, NH; two brothers Donald Gamble of Quincy, MA and Christopher Gamble of Ferdandino Beach, Florida; many nieces and nephews and several grand nephews and nieces. John was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amber Sicard. There will be a Memorial Reception on Thursday, July 31st from 2:00 until 3:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Chapel, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Donations may be made in memory of John Gamble to Easter Seals Transport (STS), c/o Maureen, 555 Auburn Street, Manchester, NH 03103.
