John Christopher Grace

John Christopher Grace, 64, passed away on January 1, 2026, after a life defined by kindness, laughter, and deep devotion to the people he loved. Born November 16, 1961, John was the kind of man who made others feel at ease the moment they were near him. He had those unforgettable eyes with a sparkle of mischief that let you know a joke, a prank, or a perfectly timed one-liner was never far behind, and just as surely, that you were welcome.

John’s presence was steady, comforting, and full of heart. He carried himself with a gentle warmth and a thoughtfulness that never felt forced; it was simply who he was.

He found joy in the things that made life feel wide and bright: blasting music, the open road, and the peace of time spent with family. He especially loved rides to the mountains on his motorcycle, Sunday drives, packing the family up in the car in their PJs and going for midnight drives to everywhere and nowhere, and those simple moments that quietly become cherished memories. Above all, John’s greatest love was his family. He made his children his world, loving them with a steady, unconditional kind of love that never wavered. To his daughter Katrina, he was a huge chunk of her heart, her constant, and her safe place. For Mikey, midnight drives and their annual trips to Indian Head, just the two of them, became core memories that will be carried forever.

John shared a love story rooted in a lifetime. He and his wife, Caroline, grew up together and built a life side by side. Just two days shy of their 44-year anniversary, Caroline was his rock, his steady place, and always by his side. Together they grew a family full of love, and a life that was truly theirs.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Caroline Grace; his children, Katrina Sevin (and her husband Ethan) and Mikey Grace; and his cherished grandchildren, Aidyn and Addison Sevin, who he thought the world of. He is also survived by his brothers, Phil and Rick Grace; his brothers-in-law, John Ferguson and Stephen Ferguson; and his nephews and niece, Mark Grace, Leah Grace McDonald and Brandon Grace.

John leaves behind a legacy that can’t be measured in years, but in the way he made people feel: seen, safe, welcomed, and lighter for having known him. Those who loved him will carry forward his kindness, his generosity, and his laughter, and they will miss him in the quiet spaces where his steady presence used to be
