John F. Holm

John F. Holm, 74 of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 17, 2022, at the Community Hospice House, in Merrimack, NH after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mr. Holm was born on July 12, 1948, in Houston, TX, the son of the late Kirol and Margaret (Schuler) Holm, Jr.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Holm was employed as an insurance broker and owned and operated Holm Insurance Agency.

Anyone that met John grew to love all his quirky ways complete with a funny remark, an unfiltered joke, ordering his Bud-light with a glass of ice and wearing his signature Parrot-head straw hat. Many described him as a reliable good guy who had an infectious smile and was easy going. John got the greatest fulfillment when he knew that he made a difference in someone’s day. Whether it was paying for a stranger’s meal, driving to one of his favorite restaurants to give employees money during COVID hardships or just offering advice to a friend or family member, John always wanted to help others and had the biggest heart.

In John’s younger years, you would often hear live bands in his garage or be invited to an epic pool party. As he got older, he and his wife, Bianca would go to concerts and he filled his travel cooler with Jell-O shots to pass out to others, John loved being the life of the party. He genuinely enjoyed being social and active. He would fill his days playing golf, playing pickle ball, and taking the Harley out for a ride.

John was well known for his staple way of answering the phone with “Greetings” and responding with “Life is good” when asked how he was.

He took the most pride in making his family a priority. He never missed his kids dance recitals, chorus concerts or horse shows. You would often see him at his grandson’s baseball ball games cheering him on to hit to right field. He would allow his granddaughter, Corinne to give him pedicures complete with painting his nails. His granddaughter Riley loved snuggling with him, and he was so patient with watching all her favorite shows or bringing her in the backyard to play.

He loved having a house filled with friends and family and would often challenge you to a game of pool, pinball, foosball or ask to play baseball in the back yard, he loved having the “fun house.” He would spend hours putting together clues for scavenger hunts for the kids on holidays.

John loved travelling with family and friends and he would often invest countless hours planning the perfect vacations.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Bianca (Bergeron) Holm of 45 years, two daughters, Jennifer Graf and her husband, Matthew of Manchester, NH, Kary Ann Monahan and her husband, Jason of Merrimack, NH, three grandchildren, Travis Graf, Corinne Graf, and Riley Monahan, He also leaves behind his sister, Virginia Chrisco of Denver, CO and two nieces.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses who cared for John at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.
